Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, bringing wind gusts topping 109km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Widespread Destruction

Locals observed large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Rescue organizations responded to 598 requests for assistance across the region, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

At the height on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 energy customers in Victoria were without power.

Climate Outlook

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.

Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both states.

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
